SHILLONG, Jan 20: Headquarters 101 Area is going to organize a musical evening on January 26 from 5 pm onwards at Shillong Cantonment to commemorate the 69th Republic Day. The event will feature world acclaimed Shillong Chamber Choir Group paying tribute to the armed forces. The maiden gesture by the choir is an obeisance to the service and sacrifices of the soldiers. The conduct of the event, the first by the choir for the services, has been facilitated by Lt Gen DS Ahuja, GOC 101 Area. The musical extravaganza is likely to be attended by 3,500 to 4,000 soldiers and families from the Army, Air Force, Assam Rifles and Central Armed Police Forces.
