Tribute to Bi Bora

Born on November 17, 1946, Bi Bora, a former teacher of Pub Guwahati High School died of heart attack at her Matharugar residence in Guwahati on February 11 at the age of 71 years. A brilliant student of Dholaibill High School of Jamugurihat, Bi completed her graduation from Handique College and later married Amar Bora, former Vice-Principal of BT College, Lachit gar.

 A woman with a high degree of morals, Bi Bora dedicated her life to teach the students the true value of life. Simplicity was another great virtue which was reflected in her thoughts and the way of living.

 She leaves behind son Rajan, a graduate from REC Kurukshetra, now working at a top post in a multitiol company in Kolkata, and daughter Nilakshi Saikia who is working in the prestigious DAV School in Delhi and who recently received an award of excellence for  dedicated teaching like her mother. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren Debraj, Ebon, Debon and Ankita, daughter-in-law Mallabika Bora, son in-law Dhuba J Saikia and other relatives. Her husband Amar Bora predeceased her in 2003.

 Death detaches life but the relation and respect will remain forever. Today on the occasion of her adyashraddha, I respectfully remember our beloved khuri and pray to god for the eterl peace of her departed soul.
