Tributes paid to freedom fighters

SHILLONG, Aug 22: The Meghalaya BJP is celebrating the 70th Independence of India from August 9 to 16. To mark the occasion tributes were paid to our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. On August 10, the tribute was paid to Pa Togan Nengminza Sangma, in Chisobibra, Tura. On the August 16, the tribute was paid to U Tirot Sing Syiem at Nongkhlaw West Khasi Hills. On the August 20, tribute was paid to U,Woh Kiang ng Bah’s statue at Madiah Kmai Blai (Syntu Ksiar) Jowai. The celebration started with the tiol flag hoisting and tiol anthem and was followed by Jainta patriotic cultural programme. Shibun Lyngdoh, BJP State president addressed the gathering and hand over the synopsis to the families of U Woh Kiang ng Bah.
