Tributes paid to martyr Khageswar Talukdar

Dibrugarh, Dec 10: Rich tributes were paid to the first martyr of the Assam Agitation, Khageswar Talukdar by the members of Dibrugarh Town Committee Asom Ga Parishad (AGP) at the party’s district committee office on December 10. The AGP town committee president Dipom Baruah on Saturday morning performed the ceremony of shaheed tarpan in presence of the members of the town committee and senior leaders of Asom Mahila Parishad (AMP) and Asom Yuba Parishad (AYP). In a meeting held on the occasion, the district adviser of AGP, Dr Kamini Ranjan Baruah; secretary of Town Committee, Ulem Ahmed; Central Executive Member, Dipak Saikia ; Central general secretary of AMP, Sayera Laskar; president of district committee of AYP, Gauri Shankar Das and former District Executive Member, Ramesh Sonowal, in their respective deliberations spoke about the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Assam Agitation. Condolences were also offered on the death of AGP district town committee, central vice-president, Dilip Saikia Sonowal on Friday and the party flag will be placed at half mast for three days.
