Trimool Congress renews call for opposition unity in Tripura

Agartala, Feb 5 : The Trimool Congress has renewed its call to bring all the non-left

parties under one umbrella to ensure removal of the Left Front government in Tripura in the next assembly election scheduled to be held early next year.

Addressing a press conference in Somura under Sipahijala district the state president of the party Ashish Saha said people of the state are eagerly waiting for a change and political parties oppose to the misrule of the Left Front should not miss this opportunity.

‘It is the need of the hour and all the anti-left parties should unite’, he said.

He was talking to the reporters after having a district level review meeting. He said the strength of the party is increasing day by day and they are confident of winning in the next election. His comments were considered significant in view of some recent developments. The leader of the TMC group Sudip Roy Barman recently told in a TV interview that uniting all the opposition parties are their priority. The BJP president Biplab Deb’s meetings with the Congress MLA Ratan Lal th and the TMC MLA Biswa Bandhu Sen separately also added to speculation. Meanwhile the Trimool Congress has given a call for disobedience movement on February 23 demanding CBI investigation over Chit Fund cases and protesting against Left Front government’s failure in different fronts. The party has launched a massive campaign across the state to make the program a success.
