Trimool MPs protest in Parliament complex over price rise

New Delhi, July 18:  Trimool Congress parliamentarians led by the party’s floor leader in the Lok Sabha Sudip Bandyopadhyay on Monday staged a demonstration in the Parliament House complex against rising prices of essential commodities across the country. Displaying posters, the lawmakers raised slogans against the central government. “Our protest is against the price rise. All over the country, there is no control over the rising prices,” Bandyopadhyay later said. The party said it had given a notice in the Lok Sabha for discussion on the price rise. The TMC leader, however, asserted that during the ongoing monsoon session of parliament, it will play the role of a “responsible opposition”. “During the monsoon session, the Trimool Congress will play the role of a responsible opposition in Parliament,” he said.
