Tripura Governor takes 'diksha' from Ramakrish Mission

Agartala, Aug 12: Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy and his wife Anuradha Roy on Friday received diksha (spiritual initiation) here from Swami Prabhanda, vice-president of the order at Belur Math Ramakrish Mission. “Yes, I and my wife have received diksha from Swami Prabhanda at the Amatali Ramkrish Ashram (on the outskirts of Agartala city),” the governor said.

The 71-year-old Tripura Governor was a follower of Ramakrish Math and Ramakrish Mission at Belur Math, the headquarters of the twin organisations in West Bengal’s Howrah district. Tathagata Roy, who was a tiol executive member of the Bharatiya Jata Party (BJP) and president of the party’s West Bengal unit (2002-2006), is also the acting Aruchal Pradesh Governor. Roy was in Jadavpur University as professor and founder head of the department of construction engineering. (IANS)
