Tripura hosts body-building competition to motivate youths

Agartala, April 21: Fitness enthusiasts from all across Tripura gathered in the state capital on Sunday to participate in the 2015 edition of the body building contest ‘Best Body Builder of Tripura Prize Money Competition’.

 The day-long event, organised by the Tripura Bodybuilding Association, was held to motivate the youth of the state to keep fit and stay away from all kinds of addictions.

 The third edition of the state level competition also seeks to promote bodybuilding as a career opportunity among the youth, providing aspiring body builders a platform to showcase their talent.

 The event included men’s bodybuilding, model search, fitness and figure competitions. For the first time bodybuilders with deformed body parts also participated in the competition.

 The organiser of the event, Shekhar Mukharjee, expressed happiness over the increase in the number of participants compared to previous editions of the competition.

 “We encourage the youths toward good health. We found that this year the number of participants are more as compared to last year and it will help them to keep away from various addictions,” he said.

 “I wish more youths participate in such competitions to have a good health and spread our country’s me,” he added.

 The event also gave recognition to the former body builders and weightlifters. (ANI)
