Tripura MP alleges Centre of conspiring against poor people

From A Correspondent
Agartala, May 10: Member of Parliament Jiten Choudhury lambasted the centre for conspiring against the poor people of the hills and villages and virtually stopped the MGNREGA works. ‘Asking for accounts of MGNREGA works completed five years ago is nothing but conspiracy’, he said while addressing a public meeting at Gandachera under Dhalai district on Tuesday. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was supposed to address the meeting but could not make it as his helicopter could not fly from Agartala due to inclement weather. The meeting was considered significant as Gandachera recently witnessed political turmoil over the death of a local BJP leader Chan Mohon Tripura. BJP alleges that Chan Mohon was killed by CPI(M) supporters instigated by local MLA.  Jiten Choudhury denied the allegation and he was an Ozha and was killed over a local dispute. It has no political connection and the accused persons are still in police custody. He alleged that BJP is trying to use it politically and launched a campaign throughout the state. It proves the bankruptcy of the party in power in the centre.
