Accused include the CPI(M) MLA Anjan Das, chairperson of the Durga Choumuhani Panchyat Samity Mabendra Deb and Local Committee secretary of the CPI(M) and vice- president of the BJP State committee Subal Bhoumik, BJP district president Parimal Debbarma and Surma Mandal president Sunil Das.

All of them have been summoned before the Sub-divisiol Judicial Magistrate on November 16. However, both the parties filed petitions seeking some more time. On October 14, the BJP hold a public meeting at Manik Bhandar and soon after the CPI (M) took out a procession shouting provocative slogan. This incited a clash between the supporters of both the parties. Later, police had to use tear gas shells to mage the irate mob and control the situation.

But the CPI (M) workers, led by MLA Anjan Das, defying the order took out a procession shouting slogans.
