Tripura re-poll passes off peacefully

Agartala, Feb 26:  Over 85  per cent of electors cast their votes at the six polling stations where re-polling was held on Monday after the Election Commission (EC) declared void the polling at these centres on February 18,
One such polling station falls in Dhanpur segment (in western Tripura’s Sepahijala district), from where Chief Minister and Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) politburo member Manik Sarkar is contesting.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was present in front of the Telkajla polling station in his constituency for the entire day. His main rival BJP’s Pratima Bhoumik also was present in front of the booth. 
The other polling stations where re-polling was held include Rajghat Uccha Buniyadi Vidalaya under Somura AC, Vivekanda Dwadash Shreni Vidyala under Teliamura AC, Luhuya High School under Sabroom AC, Mandaibari SB School under Ampigar AC and Pearrachara Tea Estate High School under Kadamtala-Kurti AC.
Out of the 5,582 voters in six polling stations, over 85 per cent voters cast their votes on Monday in the re-polling at these polling stations,” Tripura Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sriram Taranikanti said.
According to him, no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the six polling station areas spread across six Assembly constituencies.
