Tripura scribe dies, dotes body to medical research

Agartala, January 26: Tripura jourlist Surendra Paul died here on Monday following severe cardiac arrest, family sources said. He was 58.

Paul, news editor of vercular daily “Daily Desher Katha”, died at the Gobinda Ballav Pant Medical College and Hospital here. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

Later, Paul’s body was brought in a big grief–stricken rally to the Agartala Press Club where many editors, jourlists and other people paid their last respects.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Information and Fince Minister Bhanulal Saha, “Daily Desher Katha” editor Gautam Das, and Agartala Press Club president Satyabrata Chakraborty were among those who paid their tributes.

As per his last wish, Paul’s body was doted to the G.B. Pant medical college. IANS
