FROM A CORRESPONDENT

Agartala, Aug 16: Under severe presser from the government employees since the implementation of the seventh pay commission report by the central government, the Tripura government is reportedly considering a proposal to constitute a pay review committee to recommend about the possible pay structure that may be implemented in Tripura.

Sources in the state secretariat indicated that the principal secretary to the government of Tripura G S G Ayanger will be the chairman of the committee and two other Apurba Roy and Akinchan Roy will be the member of the committee.

The Tripura Government Employees Federation, a pro-Congress organisation of the government employees were demanding for constitution of a pay commission. They organised demonstration in different parts of the state regularly and also gave deputation to the fince minister.

However, the fince minister Bhanu Lal Saha has ruled out the possibility last week when he told the reporter that the state government is under fincial constrain and it is not possible to constitute a pay commission. He then said that the constitution of a pay review committee is under active consideration of the state government.
