Troupe from Cachar performs at lbari

GUWAHATI, Jan 23: A troupe of artistes from Srikrish-Rukmini Kalakshetra led by its chairman Bidhan Sinha represented Cachar district at the State Award and Title Presetation function organized on January 21 and 22 by Sanskritic Mohaxabha, Asom at lbari.

Along with troupes from other parts of the State and rest of the Northeast, the troupe from Silchar performed at the cultural congregation with much applause from the audience. On the occasion, Assam Governor Bonowarilal Purohit felicitated Nritya Bhushan Bibhul Kanta Sinha (Manipuri guru) from Silchar, social activist and advocate Deepashree of Guwahati, educationist ba Kumar Sinha from Manipur, Guru Chintamoni Sinha (Manipuri dance) from Kabuganj in Silchar, social activists Shyama Sinha and Haridas Sinha. At the cultural function, Nritya Bhushan Bibhil Kanta Sinha presented a dance choreographed by him based on Altertive Media Maven Gokulanda Gitiswami’s song – bordei bordei giri-githani. Each of the artistes were felicitated with a citation, a phulam gamosa, a jaapi and a mamento.
