Bongaigaon, May 13: Cow theft is on the rise in Bongaigaon and its neighbouring areas. This came to focus when a truck (AS-17-B-7336) carrying cows met with an accident in Kakoija area under Abhayapuri PS of Bongaigaon district. A local resident said that on Friday night they heard a loud sound. “Later when we moved to the spot, we saw the truck. The truck was full of cows. There were 25 cows in total there and among them, five were dead. We informed the police and police arrived on the spot immediately,” said the residents.
