Truck driver missing since 20 days, family flays police 'iction'

GAON (HAIBORGAON), March 13: A truck driver, Raj Kumar Mahatu, of Khutikatia area in gaon town has been missing for the last 20 days.

According to the family of the driver, the owner of the truck (AS01DC-0328), Padum Das of gaon Birah Bebejia called him around 20 days ago and since then both of them were missing. But a week ago the owner of the truck, Das returned back. The family of the driver though asked Das about Mahatu, Das allegedly refused to say anything.

Meanwhile, the family of the driver approached the local TOP Bebejia and lodged an FIR. But the in-charge of the TOP, Sarat Saikia allegedly neglected the case and did not take any initiative to find Mahatu. In despair, the family of the missing driver at last approached the Superintendent of Police, gaon and lodged another FIR directly to him. But the SP of gaon, Dilip Kumar Dey allegedly directed the case once again to the same in-charge Sarat Saikia.

The helpless family of the poor truck driver then approached the Human Rights Commission for justice and lodged a new petition for rescue of the driver.
