Truck loaded with cylinders falls into pond

DEMOW, June 12:  Under Demow Police Station at Japihajia on Saturday night, a truck fully loaded with cylinders skidded in NH-37 road and fell down in a pond. Dilip Bordoloi, a resident of Jagiroad, who was the handyman of the truck, somehow maged to come out of the truck but the driver could not be found. Bordoloi said that Abhijit Barua, the driver, is a resident of Kharguli in Guwahati. The truck (AS 25 AC 0290) which was coming from Digboi, was fully loaded with Indane cylinders.  The Demow Police and the Fire and Emergency Services reached the spot immediately and started searching for the driver inside the pond. However, some of the local people said that after the accident the driver of the truck fled from the spot.
