Trucks carrying illegal minor minerals seized in Tezpur

Tezpur: In another successful operation, a team of the forest department of Sonitpur West forest division carried out operation and seized three trucks laden with minor minerals. According to sources, three trucks (AS 12 AC - 1829, AS 12 AC -9443 and AS 12 AC 2660) laden with stone chips and sand were seized during a special raid conducted at Panchmile, Tinimile and Jahajghat under Tezpur Sadar Police Station in Sonitpur district.

These trucks were running without TP, challan and other required documents for supplying minor minerals. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Range Officer Debabrata Gogoi. All the trucks were kept under the custody of Tezpur Sadar Range. A senior official of the forest department said that the operation against illegal mining would continue in Sonitpur district.
