Trucks carrying minerals seized

Tezpur, March 27: Acting on a tip-off, a special operation team of forest department personnel under the leadership of Priyashi Saikia, ACF, and Debabrata Gogoi, Range Forest Officer of Tezpur Sadar range forest office under Sonitpur West Forest division, Tezpur, seized eight trucks laden with sand and stone from Dolabari, Panchmile and other areas under Tezpur Police Station in Sonitpur district recently.

 While talking to this correspondent, Range Officer Debabrata Gogoi said that the trucks were seized for the violation of Assam Minor Mineral Rule, 2013 of the forest department under Rules 63 and 64. Gogoi further added these trucks did not have TP and challan for supplying minor minerals.
