Trucks used in carrying illegal soil seized

Joysagar, Jan 31: The Sivasagar Divisiol Forest Office personnel seized altogether three commercial trucks used in carrying illegal soil from the bank of the Dikhow river early on Wednesday morning. As per reports, all the three trucks did not have proper permits, TP and license for transportation of forest resources. The registration numbers of the seized trucks are AS-04-AC-8566, AS-04-G-1276 and AS-04-G-0021. Sivasagar District Forest Department, with the help of Sivasagar Police and also with the help of the District Transport Department, has been conducting sudden operation against illegal and uuthorized traders of the district who are digging river banks for soil, sand and stone.

Moreover, Sivasagar District Transport Department, with the help of the district police, has been conducting operation against those who are involved in illegal open coal digging and transporting business in and around Sivasagar district. The illegal and dishonest traders have caused revenue loss for the State Government as well as great damage to the bio-diversity of the district in recent times.
