TSGAP demands 'Bharat Rat' for Dalai Lama

Itagar, Nov 10: Tibet Support Group of Aruchal Pradesh (TSGAP) has appealed the Centre to confer the prestigious Bharat Rat Award to Tibetan spiritual guru Dalai Lama in recognition of his services to India and humanity who also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.

During a meeting held here on Wednesday chaired by TSGAP President Gicho Kabak, the members observed that it would be a great example of India’s faith on Tibet by conferring the highest award on Dalai Lama. The TSGAP unimously adopted a resolution to meet Prime Minister shortly in this regard, a press release informed.

Former ministers Anok Wangsa and Tanyong Tatak who are also Secretary General and Vice-President of the group also addressed the meeting.

Meanwhile, Sange recently met Karma Yeshi, Minister of Fince and Dhardon Sharling, Secretary Department of Information & Intertiol Relations of Tibetan government in exile at Dharamsala and conveyed the message of TSGAP on extending solidarity and support for Tibetans cause till the goal is achieved, the release added.
