TT summer camp

Silchar, July 1: Udharbond Club will organize a 10 day long summer coaching camp from July 8 for 15 talented players of the district. At a press-meet held in the office building by the Club members today, Prabanda Das, former secretary, said that they have decided to conduct this camp keeping in view the upcoming inter district state table tennis tourment. The summer camp is meant for trained players who have the potential to succeed at the highest level. Prabanda Das also said that they have chosen 11 players from the Club who have already participated in previous inter-district meets along with 4 other players with similar credentials. The budget for the summer camp is estimated to be Rs.1.5 lakh, a part of which has been contributed by the selected wards’ guardians. The players from the Club who have been selected for the camp are Shankar Dey, Sagar Suklabaidya, Sibayan Deb, Arijit Deb, Rittik Barman, Kiron Roy, Biswajyoti Dutta, Ritojyoti Roy, Kamalesh Kairi, Sumit Debth and Sourish Dey.

 Prabanda Das revealed that the selected players will be coached by Avijit Roy Chowdhury who is the present coach of tiol Junior and Sub-Junior Table Tennis teams. He also said that Roy Chowdhury imparts quality coaching not only to the chosen players but also efficient, focused and result-oriented all round training for developing the art of playing the game at the professiol level with highest mettle and immaculate proficiency. Roy Chowdhury has also coached Olympian and 5 time tiol table tennis champion Mouma Das.
