TTAADC chief warns against misuse of social media

Agartala, Sept 4: The Chief Executive Member of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council Radha Charan Debbarma warned people against misuse of social media. He said that a section of people are using the social media with an ulterior motive and spreading rumour for disrupting commul harmony among the tribal and non-tribal people of the state. He said that it is part of a big conspiracy and everybody must remain alert and play their part to defeat it.

Iugurating the celebration of seventh foundation day of the Tripura Tribal Folk Music College at Nowai Auditorium in Khumulung, head quarter of the TTAADC, he said that the tribal and non-tribals were living in the state for a long time and both shared each other’s culture and tradition.

A leading light of the new generation tribal leaders of the CPI(M), Debbarma said that reviving the healthy cultural traditions is the most effective way to fight the forces working against commul harmony.

He further  said that the TTAADC has a plan to start master’s degree in this college and urged the younger generation to make best use of it.

Disclosing the plans of the TTAADC regarding development of its head quarter Khumloong, he said that there are proposals to open city centre, a cinema hall and big shopping malls like Agartala. He said that there are many other development proposals but the first condition of all these is maintaining commul harmony in the state.

Anjan Kumar Ghosh, vice chancellor of the Tripura Central University said, “A tion is identified with its cultural heritage and we must preserve it at any cost. Many of our cultural heritages are in the way of extinction due to our negligence and it is our duty to revive and preserve them.”
