Addressing the meeting Jamatia urged the community leaders to fight against dowry and other superstitions as a social movement. He said it is possible only with involvement of common people.

Admitting the problem Joy Bahadur Jamatia said process has already been initiated to amend and codify the customary laws and urged the community leaders to submit the prevailing customs in their society in written form.
