Launched in 2013, the QS BRICS University Rankings is an annual ranking of the top universities in the five BRICS countries. Eight indicators, viz. academic reputation (30%), Employer reputation (20%), Faculty/student ratio (20%), Staff with a PhD (10%), Papers per faculty (10%), Citations per paper (5%), Intertiol faculty (2.5%) and Intertiol students (2.5%) were selected to be used in the methodology. Altogether 65 Indian institutions have been able to find position in QS BRICS University Rankings 2018. In the top 20 BRICS universities, IIT Bombay has secured the ninth position while the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is at number 10, IIT Delhi is at 17th position and IIT Madras has18th position.
