Tuchel becomes Dortmund's new head coach

Dortmund, June 4 : Borussia Dortmund will start a fresh era from the coming season under new head coach Thomas Tuchel, who has signed a three-year contract with the German football club. A couple of days after coach Jurgen Klopp’s men lost 1-3 to VFL Wolfsburg at the German Cup fil in Berlin, the “BVB” on Wednesday inked a contract with former Mainz coach Tuchel. The contract will run until June 2018. The 41-year-old coach answered questions and talked about his future plans. He also praised his predecessor Klopp and his “outstanding work”.

“I am very delighted to be officially Dortmund’s coach with this press conference. During my sabbatical I had the desire to coach a top-flight and traditiol club,” Tuchel said.

Tuchel started his career as a Bundesliga head coach in 2009 in Mainz. During his five year spell with the “Nuellfuenfer”, Tuchel was able to establish the club in the Bundesliga. He also guided Mainz into the Europa League twice. The 41-year-old coach is well known for his offensively minded style of play. IANS
