Tuki calls for revival of Industrial policy

Itagar, April 13: Taking ahead his pet project of skilling and then gainfully employing the youths of Aruchal Pradesh, Chief Minister bam Tuki took review of the activities undertaken by the skill development and employment generation department on Sunday at his office conference hall. Reiterating his commitment towards employing Aruchal by providing one lakh job in 12 five year plan, Tuki called upon the department to work with zeal and enthusiasm to achieve the desired goal, an official communiqué said here today.

He was specific on directing the department to keep records of vocatiol trainings provided to youths by the VTPs and their placements as agreed upon by them. While calling for revisiting and reviving the existing industrial policy- 2008 which has lot of lacue, CM said that the industrial policy prepared in 2008 need to be modified keeping in mind the states requirement and investment avenues.

“We have to prepare an investment friendly policy for the investors so that the economic zone of the state is fully exploited”, Tuki assertively said. He categorically asked the department of Industries to focus more on cottage and small scale industries so that more employment generation can be done.

He also emphasized on establishment of CM’s livelihood mission school in every assembly constituencies of the state to provide students with vocatiol trainings on specific skills for employment generation.

It is worth mentioning that after series of Job Melas conducted by the state government in 2013 and 2014, youths from Aruchal Pradesh have been working in almost all the metropolitan cities in the country.

“Equal care has to be taken by the department in regards to safety and security of our youths working in different parts of the country” CM emphatically said while requesting the Secretary Skill Development and employment generation K J R Burman to persolly monitor the matter through correspondences with the concern state machineries. Burman while giving statistic details on the activities undertaken by the department through a power point presentation apprised the CM about the road map of the department for the state of Aruchal. The department plans to establish new ITIs one each in every district besides, 100SkillDevelopment Centres (SDCs) one each in every block.

It shall also set up Regiol Institute of Training of Trainers (RIToT) apart from organizing special Skill Development training programme for self-employment for the youths from border areas. Modernization of State Employment Exchange and Creation of Skill Development Training Infrastructure in the State by the state government or by private investors under PPP model were few more vision plan of the department.

Among others, parliamentary secretaries Tatung Jamoh, Tapuk Taku, Director Skill Development and Employment Generation Department, Subu Tabin and other department officers were present in the meeting, the communiqué added.
