Tuki urges Centre to clear pending proposals

Itagar, Nov 3: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister bam Tuki has requested the Union Minister of State for Fince Jayant Sinha to impress upon his ministry to clear the pending proposals amounting to Rs. 4571.55 submitted to NITI Aayog by the state government. The Chief Minister informed the Union minister, who called him Monday morning, said that the state, a late starter in development process - is taking up the pace of development gradually, an official communiqué informed here today. “We have enormous resources but these need to be rightly tapped to reap the benefits,” the CM said and sought support and assistance from the Union Government to make the state at par with other developed states.

The proposal includes projects like Greenfield airport at Hollongi, drinking water & draiges, district/mini secretariats, CC roads, stadiums, helipads, High court building, infrastructure for newly created districts, etc. Sinha while minutely going through the presentation on fincial status said that the debt burden of the state is within the permissible limit and the overdraft and ways and means on advance availed is also under control. He assured funds through DONER in lieu of absence of exterl funding to the state. He also emphasized for development of hydro power besides stressing on making marketing linkages with Bangladesh and Burma for economic sustaibility. The Union Minister was in the state capital today to review schemes like PM’s Jan Dhan Yoja, Atal Pension Yoja and other fincial inclusion programmes of the Center.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister exhorted the bankers to recruit more and more local youths in the branches in Aruchal Pradesh besides opening new branches in far flung interior border blocks to ensure the benefits of central as well as the state government programs reach the needy. During the meeting State Bank of India (SBI) Chief General Mager P.V. Murty gave a detail presentation on implementation of Government of India’s Programmes. State Planning Secretary Som Chombay placed an overview of the state finces, Fourteenth Fince Commission award and developmental initiatives taken up by the state government.

Home Minister Tanga Byaling, PWD Minister Gojen Gadi, Government Spokesperson Bamang Felix, Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi, Commissioner to CM Hage Kojeen, Secretary Planning Som Chombay, Secretary, Fince Daulat Hawaldar among others were present in the meeting, the communiqué added.
