Tuki visits NEEPCO Pare project

Itagar, March 3: Chief Minister bam Tuki has called upon the NEEPCO authorities executing the 110 MW Pare Hydro Electric Project, to give top priority to CSR activities for the benefit of the project affected people besides abiding by the relief and rehabilitation package guidelines.

Tuki, accompanied by Doimukh MLA and Speaker bam Rebia, Capital MLA Techi Kaso, Papum Pare DC Tai Kaye and other officials, visited the project near Hoj on Monday and took stock of the status of progress made so far, official sources said here today.

The project is being developed by the NEEPCO over Pare River at an estimated cost of Rs 1293.99 crores (revised including IDC & FC).

Interacting with project officials, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction at the progress made and urged for speeding up the fil touches.

In a power-point presentation the NEEPCO officials explained in detail the status of the project as on February 23, 2015.

The Chief Minister later inspected the power house and the dam site of the project. The project is run-of-the-river scheme that will utilize the water of Pare River and tail race discharge of the Rangadi H E Project, which is located about 5 kms upstream of the proposed dam of the Pare project. The projected length of the dam (concrete gravity) is 134.275 mtrs and height is 63 mtrs.

Though the scheduled commissioning of the project is slated for March 2016, the project authorities assured the Chief Minister that all works would be completed by December 2015, the sources added.
