Tunisia, DR Congo reach Afcon quarters

Bata, Jan 27: Tunisia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo both advanced to the quarterfils of the Africa Cup of tions (Afcon) after drawing their fil Group B game 1–1 here.

Ahmed Akaichi put Tunisia 1–0 ahead in the 31st minute Monday night and DR Congo were trailing until the 66th minute when substitute Loteteka Bokila rescued his team.

Cape Verde and 2012 continental champions Zambia played out a 0–0 draw at the same time, which ensured that Tunisia reached the quarterfil stage as the group winner, and DR Congo qualified on goals scored. Tunisia will face Equatorial Guinea in the quarterfil, while DR Congo take on Congo Republic. IANS
