Tura Polytechnic inks MoU with ICT academy

Tura, Aug 25: The Tura Polytechnic, a premier institute of Garo hills, inked an agreement on Friday with ICT academy, a public-private-partnership initiative of the Central and State governments, to impart employment enhancement training.

As part of the programme, over 95 students of Tura Polytechnic will undergo a two-week-long training on competency-based employability skills.

The programme is being funded by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in collaboration with ICT academy and will be attended by students of medical, electronics, computer applications, food processing and preservation.

The training programme will be held from 29th August to 16th September. Students will be imparted exhaustive lessons on soft skills, customer relationship magement, etc.

Addressing the memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony, Principal in-charge Oning Tyngkan enlightened the students on different opportunities, which the latter can take advantage of from different programmes like Skill India, Digital India, Startup India and Make in India.

Training and placement officer of the institute, Bappi Sangma said, “ICT academy will also arrange placement drives for employability of the students. The training is imparted for fil year and pre-fil year students”.
