tural gas found at Sontila

HAFLONG, May 21: A source of tural gas was found at the construction site of Jawhar voday  Vidyalaya at Hojai village near Sontila, 15 km from here when some  workers excavating  in search of water source there for installing a bore-well. On receipt of the information, Sri Kulendra Daulagupu, Executive Member of N C Hills Autonomous Council along with Smt Juri Phukan, Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao, Sri Sankar Neogi, HoD, Chemistry, Haflong Govt College, Sri R S Chandansiv, Principal, JNV rushed to the spot and inspected the bore-well  from where tural gas was emitting continuously on Thursday. Daulagupu said he has already contacted the OIL authorities which is sending a team of geologists and experts for detail study of the incident.
