Turkish plane diverted to Cada over bomb threat

Ottawa, November 22: A Turkish Airlines plane en route from New York to Ankara, was diverted to Cada following a bomb threat, officials said on Sunday. The flight with 256 people on board landed safely in the early hours of Sunday at Halifax intertiol airport in eastern Cada, CBC news quoted the Royal Cadian Mounted Police (RCMP) as saying. The RCMP said the threat came in at 10.50 p.m. (local time). The plane landed in Halifax at 12.53 a.m. (local time). “RCMP is looking to establish the origin of the threat and identify the person or persons responsible,” the police force said. No further details were provided. On November 17, a bomb threat forced Air France Flight 55 to divert to the Halifax airport with 262 people aboard.  (IANS)
