Two AGP leaders of Margherita resign

MARGHERITA, March 9: Puran Chetry, secretary of AGP Margherita District Committee and Partha Sarathi Saikia, secretary of AGP Margherita Constituency Committee, resigned formally from the AGP.

Puran Chetry said that the AGP central committee leaders had no ideology and principle and that is why they went ahead and forged an alliance with a commul party like BJP. He said, “Till Atul Bora is the president of AGP, I will not come back to the party because Bora has cheated the 855 martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Assam Agitation.” Partha Sarathi Saikia said that AGP was no longer a regiol party but had become an opportunist party.
