Two apprehended

Dibrugarh, May 18: The 9th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles under Dao division apprehended two over ground workers and arms dealer associated with ULFA (I) on Thursday after launching an operation at around 12:30 in the afternoon. Acting on specific intelligence input received from its sources, the Army managed to nab the accused from Nanabat Nanke Charali. The two were identified as Jiten Saha aged 31 years and a resident of Naharkatia, and Junaid Ahmed aged 28 years of Sonari. As per sources, both the apprehended over ground workers were moving in a Mahindra KUV 100 car bearing registration number AS 04 Q4817. The accused were handed over to Rajgarh Police Station where an FIR to that effect was lodged. It should be noted that this crackdown came in the wake of the ongoing operation of the security forces against the militants in Upper Assam.
