Two arrested for illegally cutting wood in reserve forest

Tezpur, July 4: Two crimils, Lenin Mech and Ajoy Khakrai, inhabitants of Chariduar Araliloga village were arrested on Sunday by the forest police on finding illegal wood cut from Charduar Balipara reserve forest in Sonitpur district under Charduar PS. Sources said that the forest department received the information about this illegal activity in the forest and according under the leadership of the Forest Officer, a group of forest staff caught the two crimil red handed. On searching, Sal wood worth Rs 50,000 was recovered from them and they were sent to jail on Monday.
