Two arrested with illegal IMFL

DHUBRI, Nov 21:  Extensive raids were carried out by a  team of 17 personnel of Dhubri excise branch under the direct supervision of the Dhubri Superintendent of Excise in the last few days. The operation spanned over towns like Golakganj, Gauripur, Dhubri  and suburbs. Acting on a tip-off, the operation was launched in Golakganj area of the district, where a large consignment of Indian-made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) was recovered from a roadside shop, an official source said. The owner of the shop, however, maged to flee before the arrival of the team. The team is now carrying out a severe crackdown at Gauripur and Dhubri town that yielded results and saw the recovery of a large quantity of liquor in the process. Two persons were arrested in connection with the incidents and they were released on bail subsequently.
