Two B’deshi tiols declared illegal infiltrators, to be deported

FROM A CORRESPONDENT

Jorhat, Jan 24: Two persons were declared as foreigners and illegal infiltrators from Bangladesh by the foreigners’ tribul, Jorhat on Tuesday. They have also been handed over to the State Police department for deportation.

Iswar Prasad Borthakur, member of the foreigners’ tribul, pronounced the judgment and order. The order was made after completion of a year-long trial before the tribul.

The declared foreign tiols are Safiqul Haque, son of Abdul Hai, and his wife Jahi Khatoon. The two persons took shelter at Magurmari village under Rupahihat police station in gaon district. Police arrested them last year from Sivasagar and produced before the tribul for trial.

They submitted some documents to prove their claim as Indian tiols by birth, but the tribul was not satisfied with their documents and passed the judgment and order declaring them as foreign tiols. They infiltrated into the country after March 24, 1971 by illegal means and as such are liable to be deported as per law, the tribul observed.
