JORHAT, May 23: In a tragic road accident, two persons died on the spot while two others were injured when the Bolero jeep in which they were travelling lost control and hit a wayside APDCL power post. The vehicle then hit a wayside tree near Gar-Ali Rangajan Girls’ High School under Titabor Police Station in Jorhat district on Tuesday night, said police sources on Wednesday.

The Bolero jeep bearing registration no AS 03 BC-5262 was carrying four BSNL employees. The jeep was coming back from Titabor via Gar-Ali to BSNL Colony at Lichubari. The two deceased were identified as Chandra Gogoi (42) from Dhekorgorah Jorhat and Horbeswar Koch (38) from Dhemaji. Both were technical employees while Bidyut Bikash Gogoi, a junior engineer of BSNL, along with the driver of the Bolero, Shantu Goswami, were injured, said police sources. All the three BSNL employees were coming back from duty after their regular checking of BSNL towers and exchange at Merapani, Borhulla, and Titabor under Jorhat division, said BSNL office source.
