Two car lifters arrested by Barghat Police, Tezpur

Tezpur: A special team led by Ranjit Saikia, Investigating Officer of Barghat Police Outpost under Tezpur Sadar Police Station, along with Manza Police officials, arrested two persons allegedly involved in car-lifting incidents, on Monday night.

A stolen Tata Sumo bearing registration number AS-12AC-9060 was also seized from their possession at Manza in Karbi Anglong district. The car had been stolen from Batamari area in Sonitpur district two days ago.

Budin Pegu, OC, Tezpur Sadar Police Station said, the accused were identified as Siabuddin (33), a resident of Sarupather, Jamunamukh and Fariduddin (34), a resident of Nagiapam, Jamunamukh in Hojai district. A case has been registered ( 2193/18) under section 379 Indian Penal Code.
