Two car lifters in cops’ net at Jorhat, Assam

JORHAT, July 18: Two car lifters, Bhaskar Bora (22) and Jadav Das (23), were arrested by a Jorhat Police team led by Dipankar Gogoi and Sunil Bora following specific information. A bike was recovered from the car lifters from the heart of Jorhat city in the Rajabari area under Jorhat Police Station.

Both the car lifters were wanted in several cases of car lifting that had remained pending since a couple of years. But a Jorhat Police team on Monday night, after interrogating Bhaskar, managed to pick up Jadav Das along with a stolen bike from his possession near Negeriting area. He was trying to sell the stolen Yamaha FZ motorcycle that was suspected to have been stolen from Lakhimpur district. Both the car lifters were produced at the CJM court on Tuesday and sent to Jorhat Central Jail, informed police sources.
