Two child protection committees formed

DEMOW, April 18: Under the patroge of District Child Protection Unit (DCAC) of Sivasagar along with Sopur Social Development Society, an NGO, two child protection committees were formed in Gossainbari and Nitaipukhuri Gaon Panchayat on Tuesday.

Regarding this, two general meetings were held in Gossainbari and Nitaipukhuri Gaon Panchayat on Tuesday, which were presided over by Sanjay Prasad Sah, president of Sopur Social Development Society. In the presence of Panchayat representatives, Gaon Burah, AASA workers, Anganwadi workers, senior citizens and headmasters, two child protection committees were formed.

Budheswar Taid was selected as president and Punya Rani Saikia was selected as secretary of the 31-member Gossainbari Gaon Panchayat Child Protection Committee. Brajendra th was selected as president and Hemanta Borgohain was selected as secretary of the 21-member Nitaipukhuri Gaon Panchayat Child Protection Committee. In both the meetings, discussion was held on steps to protect children.

In the meeting, Sanjay Prasad Sah, Biki Borthakur, Sikha Moni Bhuyan, Borli Konwar, Momi Borgohain and Juliti Robi Das were present and they stressed awareness on the child protection issue.
