Two children rescued at Tangla railway station

TANGLA, August 27: Two children were found abandoned at Tangla railway station on Friday evening. Railway policemen and members of Tangla Police Station grik Committee headed by Ashim Roy rescued the children.

“We found them in isolated condition. They got down from the Dekargaon-Rangia 55722 Dn Passenger train at about 7.30 pm on Friday. The children said that a man with tribal features had accompanied them,” said a railway police official.

The children have been identified as Etwa Barla (10) and Sukhram yak (12). The children said, “We were lured by a man to board the train from Ghograjuli station of Sonitpur district.” Etwa Barla said his mother was a household maid in New Delhi. He also said that his mother left him at a tender age. The child is a school drop-out. Shukram yak (10), is a student of Class 6 at Rakshmari LP School. His father is a farmer.Both the children are residents of 15 no. Jangalmati village under Rakasmari outpost of Sonitpur district. The railway police have contacted their parents and they are currently in safe custody at Tangla GRP investigation centre.
