Two convicted

SHILLONG, Nov 30: Two persons were convicted by a city court for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to police, on November 25, the court of Judicial Magistrate, First Class, Shillong, convicted one Stomer Basaiawmoit, who was booked by the Rynjah traffic branch under section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act while driving his vehicle dangerously under the influence of alcohol. He was imposed a fine of Rs 2000 and was disqualified for driving for a period of six months. In another conviction on November 26, one Barimon Laloo was booked while driving his vehicle dangerously under the influence of alcohol. He was booked by the Laitumkhrah traffic branch under sections 184/185/187. A fine of Rs 3500 was imposed upon him and he too was disqualified from driving any vehicle for a period of six months.
