Two cops among three killed in GNLA ambush

Shillong, Oct 1: Three people, including two policemen, were killed in Meghalaya’s insurgency-ridden Garo Hills region, a police officer said on Thursday. “Two urmed policemen were killed after they were ambushed by Garo tiol Liberation Army (GNLA) militants on Thursday at Chachatgre area in East Garo Hills district,” And Mishra, a district police officer informed.The dead policemen - Helpingstone Nongkseh and Kundan Dalu - of Meghalaya police battalion were proceeding to Williamgar, the district headquarters of East Garo Hills from the camp area in Bolkingre. Mishra said a search operation has been launched by security forces.
