Two dacoits held

SHILLONG, May 30: Mawlai Police on Sunday arrested two members of a gang of dacoits who were involved in looting truck drivers and petrol pumps late night in Mawiong area here.

The arrested robbers have been identified as Raju Biswa (36) and Chandra Prakash (36) - both residents of Iew Mawlong.

Police informed that they were caught while they were committing robbery. However, one maged to escape in a vehicle used by them.

They were allegedly involved in at least eight robbery cases.

Police also seized eight mobile phones, 17 Sim cards, cash Rs. 8400, two used syringes and one knife from their possession.
