Two-day search and rescue training for volunteers held

Golaghat, Feb 21: A two-day training on Search and Rescue for volunteers was organized recently by the District Disaster Magement Authority (DDMA), Golaghat in association with the Assam State Disaster Magement Authority (ASDMA) and tiol Disaster Response Force at District Library auditorium, stated a press release.

Inspector/GD Abhay Kr Singh and his team from 12 Bn NDRF, Doimukh, Aruchal Pradesh and i/c Civil Defense, Srimanta Sarmah and his team were resource persons for the training.

The participants were trained on basic search and rescue techniques including first aid for effective response during emergencies such as floods, earthquakes and fire.. DPO, DDMA also chaired a session on coordition among local response agencies and disaster magement at the community level. The training was iugurated by Additiol Deputy Commissioner, Amar Jyoti Barman. Six field officers under DDMA, Golaghat and a total of 50 volunteers attended the training programme.
