Two-day training programme on competitive examition held

Dibrugarh, Nov 28: A two-day training programme on competitive examition was organized by the district administration in collaboration with the Information and Counseling Guidance Cell (ICGC) of DHSK College  among the students of various  colleges of Dibrugarh town at Sankardev Auditorium, DHSK College, from November 27 –November 28. A total of 120 students participated in the training programme. The Principal of DHSK College, Dr. Sasikanta Saikia , informed The Sentinel that 20 students each from DHSK Commerce College, MDKG College , DHSK College , NBCT College, Dibru College and DDR College,Chabua , took part in the two-day training programme. Well- known counselors from Maharashtra ,  Bhushan Kelkar and Madhua Kelkar , as resource persons , imparted training to the participating students. The DHSK Principal , further stated that the training programme was possible due to the initiative of Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri.

During the two-day session, apart from  imparting training on All India Competitive Examition like IAS and IFS , the students were also given  training on other competitive examitions as well.

Similarly , a two-day workshop on Spoken English was held at DHSK College from November 25-November 26.  Iugurating the two-day workshop, DHSK Principal Dr Sasikanta Saikia stressed the importance of learning the English language. Stating further, he said that there are 400 million English speaking people the world over. English language has played a pivotal role in the Indian society even though it is not considered as a tiol language of India.

The Heads of the Departments of English and Political Science, Dr. Pratik Chaudhury and Dr. Titus Bhengra, respectively and  DHSK College Vice-Principal , Dr. Atikuddin Ahmed, as resource persons , emphasized the importance of learning Spoken English.  Earlier, the Professor of English department, DHSK College, Rimjhim Sonowal , spoke about the aims and objectives of the workshop. The entire two-day Spoken English workshop was anchored by coorditor of ICGC, Bhaskar Das.
