Two deaths mar Bihu festivity

DIBRUGARH, April 13: Amidst Bihu milieu of joviality, a 30-year old youth was killed in a major road mishap. The accident occurred at the over bridge near Tha Chariali when a Echo van bearing registration no AS-06P6044 had a head-on collision with a motor cycle (No AS-06G4328) which borne the 30-year old rider at 11 pm.

The critically injured motor cycle rider, Baba Gogoi , son of Sushil Gogoi of Silapathar , Dhemaji was rushed to Assam Medical College and Hospital but Gogoi succumbed to his injury on the way to AMC.  The deceased was engaged as driver in one of the nursing homes here. The police have registered a case. In another incident, a 60-year old Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) staff, Ajoy Khargoria died near Jeoti Moral Sangha in Chiring chapori due to severe cardiac arrest while he was doing his morning walk. Khargoria’s death was widely mourned by his ASEB colleagues, other employees, family members and admirers.
