Two drug peddlers arrested

SILCHAR, June 15: Two persons, Ching Khia Tau Rongmei, 42 and Mithun Deb, 32, have been arrested on Tuesday at Phulertool at around 8.45 pm by Lakhipur police, on charges of carrying 39,730 SP capsules which have intoxicating elements. They were coming in an ambassador bearing number AS-06 3254, from Silchar when Jyoti Ranjan th, sub-divisiol police officer, Lakhipur and Nobo Kumar Bora, officer in-charge, Lakhipur police station arrested them. Mithun, who is a resident of Chiri Bazaar, Baskandi, was driving the ambassador, while Rongmei, a resident of Phulertool was seated inside. This morning, both of the accused have been sent to the Court for further action.
